My question is... how did you get that second line for free??

Good question. I have the same plan (recent retention plan change), but I do not have the 2nd line free.

I do, however, have 2 of my 4 phones at $10 Add a phone. It took me several calls to get 2 of my 4 phones switch from $20 AAP to $10. Every rep I called said, Sorry, that is NOT possible. Then one day, I got this real nice rep who knew what he was doing and was able to switch me (code change) to get the $10 APP. I took him about 1/2 an hour, searching and doing things, but he managed to get me the $10 APP on my 4th phone.

By the way, when I first got my first $10 APP on my 2nd line, the REP was the one who did this for me without me ever asking for it. The rep had screwed up my account (her fault) and told me that she could easily fix it by making one of my phones (2nd line) a $10 APP. I think that at the time, Sprint had this "SPECIAL" thing going in which you could get every-other-phone in your plan at $10 AAP instead of $20.

The bottom line in my experience dealing with Sprint, is that everything is possible when they want, and nothing is possible by default. I hate these games but that is the way of these businesses and you will end up a winner or a looser depending on how much effort you play with.

10 dollar add a phones may be a promotion in some markets, thats the only thing i can think of. If you are in a market which does not have/had the promotion they can not add it to your account. They system will not let you use codes that are not for your calling area.

it's 10 if it's fair and flexible, 20 if its free and clear

Well I also have the 2nd line free. It came with my plan. I have the 2000 minute plan. I get the second line free and vision is free on the primary line.
My third phone is 20.
