Picked up a black faceplate kit from DayDeal.com for my 4050. FWIW, if you're looking into trying this make SURE you get a Torx-6 driver with a center hole! This is important! For some reason Toshiba used a T-6 screw with a center pin to secure the casing instead of a standard philips or a standard torx. Bummer, had to look all over the city for a driver like that. Then I had to carefully shave down certain parts of the replacement faceplate so it would fit. Oy. In the end though it looks pretty darn good - we need more colored phones in the US man.

The battery case is black too. Unfortunately I totally forgot to put the clear camera lens cover in, so I'ma have to open 'er back up!

Actually, I think the two-tone is far cooler than solid black.

I'm a fan of black... I do like the two-tone, it looks very much like it comes straight from Toshiba like that. The faceplates are $12.99 each and come with the battery cover.

I'm betting a white one wouldn't look half bad either, but the 7400 faceplate I got from them that was supposed to be white was more of an off-****e and had a blue prismatic coating on it - cool, but now what I wanted. The black on the other hand had the same texture as the rest of the casing.

Just make SURE to get the right security bit for the screw (Torx-6 with center pin), or make sure you're really really good with very small tools. Using a super tiny tiny flathead (not sure of the size) I was able to delicately undo one screw, but I did not want to run the risk of stripping any of them so I sucked it up and went hunting for the proper bit. But it can be done - the screws are surprisingly (pleasantly) strong.
