I will be a sprint customer for 4 years by the end of this month. Last October though I had already resigned a 2 year contract because I was offered the 5% loyal customer discount in an email. Now that I have the PM-325, I love texting and using pcs vision especially to get ringers and screensavers with the focus tool. I have the advertised 300 F&F plan, pcs vision, and pcs2pcs. Totally $55.25 after the discount but before the taxes. What I would like though is a plan for $50 with the same options but with unlimited texting and possibly some more minutes. I know I can't jsut simply request that but I notice some of you guys have something close to that. If I had known about retention plans prior to renewing I would've tried but now that I'm only in my 5th month of my 2 year contract you think I should bother even trying?

You missed out the good old days. Chances are not as high as it has in the past few month.

RETENTION is worn out from all the people that fake to cancel. Management took a stand and actually started to cancel people's account.

You choose F&F because you like its ability for you to go over with low charges, correct? Havent seen anything that retentions offers that will do it. Best you MAY be able to do is get rid of the download credit and get the unlimited text messages in its place.

Belong to a credit union? 10% off for being a member it seems, which would put you right at a $50 price point, so your only losing out on the extra minutes. Membership generally is a $5 minimum deposit and just living in the right county. It sucks that you didnt have a clue that they might offer you an add-on for free to keep ya, and it doesnt always go thru retentions to get it either.

I doubt you will get what you want now though, probably best to just suffer till the merger when all sorts of new plans and phones come out again!

When I Call Retention, The 1st Thing I Say Is "hello! 1st Off, I Have No Intention Of Canceling My Service. I Think Sprint Is Great! Please Pull My Account Up. You Will See I Pay My Bill On Time And You Are Getting Quite Alot Off Money From Me. Is There Any Way You Can Help Me Save Some Money?" If There Is A Plan You Have Heard About On Here, Ask Him/her About It. You Would Be Suprised How Far Being Honest Will Get You.

Look if you want all those options like text vision and pcs-pcs when you go to a store there are bundled packages now that are 15 dollars for vision, unlimited text msgs, and pcs-pcs savings to you $10. They have to be on the offers page but if you use those options a lot it usually gets offered I just now started seeing it pop up in the past month so its pretty new it seems. Before anyone calls CS asking for this option, it has to be offered to you, its not a call in and get it thing but if you use those things a lot you may get offered it next time you go to a store, or call CS. The other Package deal is 7pm, Unlimited text, pcs-pcs.

All the more reasons to shop at Costco. If you bought at Costco and Sprint does this to you, return your phone for 100% refund. :D

If Sprint does this to enough Costco members, Sprint will be KICKED OUT from selling at Costco.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. This has been my point all along. There is nothing wrong with asking and asking nicely and in a polite manner.

Please Costco would be wise to keep Sprint at its locations even if there are members there getting booted from Sprint. That is just playing into it too much on Costcos part, what customer would complain about getting dumped because they tried to defraud Sprint of cash. Wait dont answer a Sprint customer.

Please Costco would be wise to keep Sprint at its locations.

The main reason Costco surfaced from nowhere (was PriceClub) and has become so big, is due to one simple fact: Customer Service.

If enough people get canceled from Sprint and enough people complain to Costco, Costco will DUMP Sprint. Costco knows what makes them money and successful, Customer Satisfaction.

I would LOVE for Sprint to cancel my contract. If/when they do, I can return my Sprint phone at Costco for 100% full money back. 1,000.00 bucks :D

My situation was so much like yours, it's not funny. I had one line in 10/03. I had about a month left on the contract, and Sprint was pushing 5% to get as many people on contract before WLNP rolled out in November. I signed a contract then and added a second line a week or two later with a one year contract. I'd been with Sprint off and on (mostly on) for years, and I had a good payment history. In 2/04 money was getting tight, so I called to ask about options to lower my bill, the rep offered me some choices, helped me pull some add-ons from the account, and then transferred me to retention. I think it was a warm transfer. The retention rep offered me my $40/mo 750min 8pm N&W plan, which I took with a new 1 year advantage agreement on each line.

So, yes, it's not too late. It can be too early, (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showpost.php?p=552192&postcount=1) but not too late. Just be honest.

Is there a direct number that I can call or do I just ask CS?

Sorry but what do you mean by offers page? Is there an actual listing of offers at the store or do I have to ask them what they can offer me?

Its what pops up on the screen when you call *2 basically. What they can offer you as add-on services for free or at a discount.

It has to do with a high salt content. Woman who eat too much salt end up retaining lots of water in their body, thus, you have retention.

Sorry, could not resist. :hee:

Do a Quick search on retention plans, theirs a ton of info.

Basically its to keep valued customers from switching service providers. You have to want to switch, and call to cancel service and they MAY give you an offer of a better plan to stay. Explain that your considering whoever as their plan is this much and you can get this included plus free or extremely discounted phones if you switch.

I got "retained" from a $110/month plan down to a $55/month plan and they gave me a couple free phones to boot.

As always, YMMV, and they may just tell you sorry, cant help you and say they will shut you off. Tell them that you want any changes to happen at the end of billing cycle and if your leaving your porting your number so dont try and just turn you off today if that happens.

Well I called up and told the guy that I've been a Sprint customer for the past 4 years and now love using Vision, picturemail, and text messaging but I was wondering if there could be a way for me to keep my bill around $50 yet add on unlimited text. He tried looking up like a $10 vision plan but said there wasn't one and then made suggestions for me to drop vision and and unlimited text. In the guy said he really couldn't offer me anything else to keep my bill lower. Also said that the $5 credit is packaged with Vision so that couldn't be changed. And all I wanted was to add unlimited texting without a fee. Oh well.

Oh well.

You need to call Sprint several times more. I like to use my work communute to/from work to call Sprint for these things. After a month or two, I will bet that you will get a better plan. :hee:

Wow...think Costco will "Kick" Nextel too? :D
