Hey,
I just bought this phone off some guy that found it on the floor at a gas station. I tired doing an ESN exchange at a cell phone place, but it popped a message saying that the ESN was invalid, to re-type it or call SprintPCS custom. Solutions. I Already have a sprint account. I called sprint to see if the ESN is cleared, and it is, but they won't let me do an ESN swap. WHY? WHY? WHY?!! What can i do about this??? This phone is in MINT conditions. Some one plz help me out.

....one of the reps told me that the phone was already in an account, and that the customer would have to cancell her account. Now, it's a discount line( Iguess that person works for sprint or something) anyway, the phone hasn't been used since June 2004.

The phone was most likely reported as lost or stolen, which would kill the ESN in the system.

You bought a paperweight off that person.

I agree, your 2 best "options would be to see if it qualifies for the recycle program and cut your "losses" or just drop it into a bin at one of those places that give "911 phones" to battered women.

T-Mobile is taking used phones to benefit the Tsunami victims... (any phone, not just T-Mo...) BUT how about trying to return the phone to the original owner... I'm sure you can drop it off at a Sprint store...
