Hello

I'm new to the whole dowloading ringtones onto my Sanyo 8100. I just purchased a data cable off Ebay to do some free downloads. My question is, all these websites I've been checking out for ringtones sound awful, is this how the music ringtones sound? They sound like really bad synthesizer renditions or bad elevator music. How can I get the actual song? My buddy has real songs on his phone (not sure what phone he has). Is it possible with my phone? Thanks a bunch.

Cheers!

Yes, you can use real song ringers (.QCP) on your phone, but they're not as easy to attain as the synthesizer (.MIDI) versions you've been finding. You can actually create them yourself, and it's fast, easy, and best of all FREE. Once you get the hang of it it's a 3 minute process to create your own ringers. Here is a FAQ to walk you through the steps in making ringers for your phone: http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11225 . Feel free to instant message me and I can help you out if/when I'm available.

Edit: Also, another option would be to visit some of the websites provided for free by users on SU. Some that come to mind are: www.dbringers.info and http://bigbrett.com

I noticed that I have to download the song onto my phone. I don't subscribe to Vision (or whatever Sprint's internet is called). Can I still get the songs when they send me the song? Will I have to pay Sprint for going "online"?

Thanks

if you dont have a vision (internet) package, you will be charged $.01 per KB of data you transfer, so each ringer will roughly equal 60 cents

That's not too bad. I'd rather it be free though. Is there a way to get a .QCP file to my phone with just a data cable?
