I really like Sanyo's features on their phones, But before I purchase this 5600 is the sound quality that much better than the 5500. I had the 5500 and a week later the phone started to sound muffled. I did not drop it or anything but the phone just changed by normal wear.
I dont like taking my Treo 650 everywhere so I use the 5500 for non business functions.
Any thoughts about using some of the 5600 features as a alternate to a full blown Smartphone ????

The 5600 and Treo will be a HUGE difference. They can't even be compared since they are on two different levels.

Treo and any (non pda) handset is apples and oranges

I cleary understand this but, is there any features that the 5600 has over the 5500 for any personal business functions ??

I don't get why you said it started sounding muffled "a week later." How did the 5500 sound before that?
7400 had a better earpiece than the 5500. 5600 reportedly has a better earpiece than the 7400, so I'd say it's definitely improved.

Um, earpieces don't automatically start sounding muffled. What do you mean by this?
I don't have a problem with any of the pre-7400 Sanyo earpieces.... that means that the 74/5600 earpieces must be like listening to a utopia, lol.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Why would it take a week for you to decide the earpiece is muffled? You read something, used a friend's phone and was able to make a comparison? That's all I was asking. I knew on the first day whether or not I liked it and, having had it for about 5 months, I obviously liked it.
That is until I started trying other phones. I got a line with Verizon and had the VX6000, Motorola V60s and Audiovox 9900. Once I started actually using my Sprint line with the 5500 again, this girl called me and I thought she was a dude. Luckily I found a real cheap 4050.
That's why I'm hoping the 5600's earpiece has improved, 'cause I'm not going back to that. I never heard of a phone's earpiece shifting on you after a week's use but if that is the case, my bad.

I'd say the voice recorder and the fact that you can use it as a portable storage device count for something...

Tuolumne, will you ever give Sanyo a shot again? Your negative experience with the 8100 has not been replicated to my knowledge by anyone else. I think you got a defective handset. The earpiece apparently is no longer an issue. What else is stopping you from trying Sanyo?
You aren't that blind, are you?

One day the 5500 earpiece was fine the next it was muffled and was never the same. Thats all. I question the quality of the Earpiece. I didnt decide it was muffled it changed.

If this is truly what happened, and you didn't read one of Tuolumne's earpiece posts, and "decide" that it was muffled, then I think you were due a replacement because you had a defective phone.
(The reason why I say this, is because it HAS happened before... someone read a post, and suddenly their earpiece "became muffled" and before, they never had a problem. :o)

Mainly, the A800 and the Samsung user interface.
