First off, great site! Thanks for providing this forum!

I am looking to purchase a Treo 650 and have been trying the 300 just to get a feel for it before spending 650 money.

My question is this; the company I work for has provided Blackberry's for upper management. Will my Treo be able to pull email off this server if given access?

Thanks in advance.

afaik not really. not yet. They say they are working on the client software. if your looking at instant email people are having very good luck with the ChatterEmail software.

Thanks I figured it wouldn't be that easy.

One other question. It may have been covered but I couldn't find anything on it.

I can check POP from my ISP but cannot send. I talked to tech support and was told I had to use the sprint outgoing server. I tried smtp.sprintpcs.com but I could not login using any of my passwords.

TIA.

go online and set up the email account first. It's a little difficult because there are, like, three different passwords. after you set up your account it's fairly easy. you can set it up so it looks like the email is coming from the other account and replies will go there seamlessly. very transparent. I've done it with Versamail and Snappermail. if you need further instructions I can assist.

I have set up my email account. Using Snappermail, I have my ISP's pop address for the incoming server and smtp.sprintpcs.com with my user name and password I set up through Sprint.

When I try to send an email I get an error message that says: Invalid Username and password...

Should my identity information mirror what my sprint email account says or what my ISP account says?

I appreciate all the help.

Thanks

you need your servers outgoing pop server to sent outgoing mail.
on a side note, pop is not the protocol blackberry uses. earlier you asked if your treo can connect to a blackberry server. the answer is yes, blackberry uses IMAP no POP. check out chatteremail.com and read all the questions about "push" email.

here is a quick check
go to pop.sprintpcs.com (http://pop.sprintpcs.com/)
enter your username and password
and see if you can login.

these are the username and password you should be using.

here is a detailed configuration thingy from snappermail

hope this helps, if not we can continue here or in a pm
