Well that is my ordeal now. I use to have Sprint about 2 yrs ago but decided to jump to Tmo since they were GSM (I was traveling to South America and Europe). But now the question is what to do. I bought the Treo 650 with Sprint for $419.00 to test it and the service out, I also ordered an unlocked Treo 650 for $699.00 to use it with TMO. Unlimited vision for 15$ is great compared to Unlimited GPRS for $19.99. EDGE is supposedly rolling out for TMO towards the end of 05. The only thing Im losing by coming back to Sprint is about 300 minutes a month (I currentlyl have 1000 anytime w/nw for 39.99 with Tmo) but its hard for me to decide where to make the jump to Sprint or pay an additional $200.00 for an unlocked unit.

I do notice that the sound quality in the earpiece on the Sprint 650 is a bit muffled compared to my GSM service but I will have to wait till tomorrow to compare both Treo's........ What to do?

It is odd that you would say the Sprint Treo 650 sounds muffled, because before I switched from using GSM to CDMA I was told CDMA would make calls sound like a robot. But that turned out to be the opposite. I can tell that I am using a GSM cell phone, but with Sprint and Verizon it is really difficult to tell. It is the closest thing to the quality of a Landline that I have found.

But if you want my opining, go with Sprint. I use Sprint's $10 Unlimited Visions access with my Treo 650 and that is a great price for data. I knew someone back in school that was using T-Zones with an Unlocked Smart-Device, and when T-Mobile found out, they closed his account. He told me that they knew he was using an uncertified phone on his account because he was using way too much data, and they could tell what phone he was using when he would call them up for support.
So with T-Mo you would most likely have to pay for the $20 a month data plan, or run the risk of getting into trouble.

If you do go with Sprint, just get one of their Fair& Flexible America plans. That should help with any minutes you might lose from switching.

Plus Sprint's data network is faster and more reliable from what I have seen, heard and read about.
The Treo 650 is a great phone though. I just wish they were cheaper. But I guess in time hopefully this is change.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

actually some of the cingular t650s are unlocked...look up treocentral forums for more details on that. You may be able to avoid getting an "unlocked" one that costs more by getting a cingular branded one that is already unlocked.
