Making custom ringtones is getting easier and easier...
This is how I make custom ring tones...
1. Using an older version of CoolEdit (now Adobe Audition http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/main.html ).
This is a professional, multi-track audio editing tool and has a steep learning curve for the newbie. But once you get to know the software, it can do some amazing things. I use this software to create my custom ringtones from my favorite mp3/wav file snipits. You can also add your own voice (raw or edited) into the ringtone (i.e. Yo! Pick up dah phone!, Talk to Me!, etc etc). Once you have recorded, mixed, filtered, boosted, and pretty much mangled your favorite music into a killer ringtone that would make mother proud (or get you slapped :eyebrow: ), your ready to convert it to work with your phone.
2. Using Easy CD-Da Extractor http://www.poikosoft.com/ .
This is your one stop shop for extracting and/or converting sound formats.
Easy CD-DA Extractor supports following audio file formats: MP1, MP2, MP3, Windows Media Audio 8, Windows Media Audio 9, Windows Media Audio 9.1, Ogg Vorbis, MP4, M4A, AAC, FLAC, Musepack, VQF, WAV, AIFF, Monkey's Audio, and Shorten. Also, the Nero Digital (Nero AAC) is supported if you have the Nero Burning ROM installed on your computer.
Take your killer ringtone compilation and convert it to a 64 kb/s sampled .m4a (or whatever you need). Once your done, use the Focus tool to upload it to your phone. All Done...
You are now One with your ringtone young grasshopper....
Note: Both programs have downloadable "try b4 you buy" versions online.
