ive been downloading the 30 second demos from walmart and have been converting them to m4a to upload them to my 7400 via focus... but ive noticed that some ringers sound very low, and some sound at a medium level but never have uploaded one that sounds loud enouhg. Now i know the phone is not the problem cause i have other ringers that i downloaded from sprint and they sound VERY loud. i dont care too much about the sound quality or the file size i just want to send loud walmart demos to my phone, does anybody know how to put more volume before i upload to my phone?

Same thing happen to me couple of times and I do not understand it as well. Plus when playing the ringer it takes up space. Like the visuals but man it messes up space on phone.

You have to rename the mp4 file to a .m4a file

for more volume use a sound editor before sending them, i use soundforge, but there are others out there, see Deval's sticky on ringtones.

I found this while searching for ringtones. It is a website that you can "rip" music of off a CD that you own, and send it to your phone.
BUT, you have to download and install a series of programs to you computer...
I have tried it, and I LOVE it!! You and ALSO send screensavers, and animated screen savers to your phone, (provided you phone can handle it)

As for the volume problem, depending on the volume level that the "music" (MP3-MP4-.wav) was recorded at, it what you are going to get...
One of the programs that you would have to download with the site is called "bppoweramp" there might be a way through there to "bump" up the volume...

Just edit the ringtone volume with your favorite audio editor before you load it to your phone.

You right click on the file, select rename and change the extension to .m4a
If you are using Windows XP and the file extensions are not visible, open any folder go to the Tools menu/ Folder Options/ View tab/ Then uncheck the box that says hide extensions for all file types. Select "Apply to All Folders" Then OK. After that when you look at a file you will see its extension. On a side note MP3Trim is probable the quickest program to use to raise the volume of your mp3 clips.
