A few things I don't like about my new PM-A740...and I was hoping maybe someone had some solutions as i've been trying for the last week or two to fix them :(
1. Any wallpapers (Screensavers) that I wish to use on my phone, only take up the middle section of the display, not transparent through the top battery/signal bar, and my custom Greeting also does not show up, nor does the wallpaper go transparent behind the date and time. Any pictures that came preloaded on the phone OR ones that I take personally with the camera, WILL however work just perfect, covering the entire main screen display. As a second part to this, same goes with external picture displays, on the outside LCD for caller ID, only pictures in My Pictures (a.k.a. ones that I've taken WITH my camera) will show up on the outside when set to caller ID photo.
2. The ringers. Let's get it out in the open, their HORRIBLE. Any ringer I download sounds like crap (32 chord i know) and any mp3 I convert to a QCP ringer is muffled, the volume flucuates and is basically useless, i know QCP isn't a good file format but still, I would have expected it to be a bit better but I guess not.
3. The GUI is also very slow. I move speedily through my phone book and through my text messages, and it seems blatently obvious that the GUI cant keep up with me, I've tried turning off the sounds thinking maybe that was the cause, nada.
4. And lastly, to extend on #1 problem, the screen size of the A740 is 128x160 correct? When I try to make my own wallpaper in that resolution, I load it to the phone and set it as the screen saver; problem is on either side of it are two thick white bars, as it's not actually filling the screen. Seems the only other solution other than using a picture in My Pictures (camera) is to make the wallpaper a bigger size such as 320x240 or 640x480 and it seems to cram into the space there.
Anyone agree or have any solutions to any of these problems? I'd be greatly appreciated, as it was only a $50 phone from Sprint, I wasn't expecting miracles because it DOES do what I had intended it to do, but these things annoy me :hee:
