Hello, first time posting because of a peculiar situation...
My 8200 was slightly water damaged to the speaker phone and the outside lcd so I decided to use my insurance to get a new phone which they promptly sent me and told me to put the old phone in the preaddressed envelope to return to them.

While the new phone was in shipping I continued to use the old phone as it still dialed out and received calls. And on Friday night, my car was broken into and the old phone stolen! The new phone arrived yesterday and I called insurance to let them know that the old phone was stolen

They are telling me that since I filed the phone as damaged, they have to receive the old phone or else charge me, even though it was stolen!

I have no idea what to do, since I cant get the old phone back and have yet to activate the new one, should I send the new one back and file a new claim?

Any help would be great

if you have a police report I would call lock line and get that to them ASAP. If they see you arn't filling them a line then maby they will work with you.
You might want to get them on the line and at the same time fax the report to them. that way you stay with the same rep then whole time. And get the reps operator #. Keep all the records of who and when you talked to someone.

Good idea, I'll get on the police report tomorrow but Lockline acted like they couldnt change a claim once made, not that I was lying to them about a lost phone. A matter of paperwork semantics it seems at this point but yes, I think a police report about the theft can never hurt.
