I was just wondering what broswers everybody uses when surfing the web. Obviously most people use Internet Explorer, but who uses Opera, Firefox, Safari, or any other browser?

Im running Firefox. Once you get away from IE, you will never go back. If only I can download it at work.

I also type using the Dvorak method, I guess that makes me strange.

I mainly use Safari, but I also use Firefox and IE at times.
For some odd reason I can only reliably download Audible.com content with IE.
Frustrating but it works where the others will not.

Firefox all the way.......unless something needs ActiveX (which is very rare).

Netfront on the Clie.

IMO, if something requires Active X then it's not worth using. :hee:

Opera.

IE (on a Windows machine) is a big hog and gets infected quicker than a Tijuana john on a Saturday night.

Mozilla Firefox on PC/Safari on Mac

Internet Explorer feels so SLOW now I can't bear to use it on a PC! The Mac version is still pretty useful and fast, but it's the same-ol' same-ol' from like 6 years ago so...

I like Firefox, and how customizable it is WITHOUT LOOKING AT A REGISTRY, but for me, it's IE all the way. For one thing, it's FAR more stable (than standard) when you know what you're doing, it doesn't take up as many resources when you know what services to turn off, like DNS and DHCP, and Windows XP is built on IE, so for me, with ~500 gigs of data in this dektop, and another ~500 gigs scattered about the house, it just works better. Add in Remote Desktop, Fast User Switching, MMC, IIS, and the availability of neat little programs, especially native support for IML, it willa lways have a home for me. Plus, you have to manually update Windows without IE, and I mean MANUALLY. I will and do concede that other browsers are more technologically advanced in many ways, plus they're "Standards Compliant" and can display pages smaller than 1k, but are they really "Standards Compliant" when the standard is IE? Anyways, I have no problem with other browsers, I'm just an advanced user and know what I'm doing, so it works for me, and my data management needs.

And no, I'm not a Windows freak, I've got Caldera products on the shelf behind me, and Knoppix on disk, plus a modded Xbox.

Besides, I think i'm legally barred from using Opera or Firefox, since I'm unfortunately NOT cool OR trendy!

f

lol, that was a joke, don't take it too seriously.

I'm actually using 3.1 on my Clie (I think! Gah, I seem stupid).

And I would LOVE to have 3.2 on my Clie.........why did they have to stop making the browser for Palm OS? (I guess because Sony was getting out of the handheld biz, and they were the one that used Netfront.)

3.2 has tabbed browsing; that alone would be a tremendous upgrade.

Safari (Mac), Firefox (Mac & PC), IE (PC ONLY).
I have to use a number of different platforms for Web Design purposes :)

Safari and Firefox are by far the best IMHO :headbang2
