I started my Sprint account just over a year ago with the Samsung VGA1000 phone and just bought a gently-used Treo 600 off of ebay. I was able to do an ESN swap over the phone and everything transferred fine.

I'm still paying for the monthly insurance, but does it cover my new (used) phone? If it breaks, gets lost/stolen, etc. does the insurance still cover it or am I just wasting $5 a month on insurance that does me no good?

I love my new Treo, but I'm almost afraid to use it for fear I'll break it and be up the proverbial creek...

Anybody know for sure? If it's not covered, I think I'll cancel the insurance, cause $5 is still $5...

as long as it is on your account the insurance covers the device, used or not.

I think there may be a 500.00 insurance claim limit. Since a new Treo 600 retails for 549, would it be possible they would make you pay 100.00 instead of 50 for a claim? There is a good chance im wrong, but I would like somebody elses imput.

That's good to know, I guess I'd better keep my insurance going!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read and answer!

The equipment protection and enhanced warranty (better known as TEP - but you already know that Big D! lol) are a great deal. Using it only once in a year really does cover itself, even with a deductible.
