My mom has the 8100, but our new puppy chewed it all up. She wants a new one, but can't decide between these two. What are you guy's opinions and thoughts on the two phones? Which is better?

I like the 8200 a lot more. Unless you plan on keeping picture mail, and plan to send a lot of pictures, then the better camera dosent matter. Ready link may be free when we combine with nextel, so it could be nice to have. I just think that Sanyo makes much better phones than audiovox. I have heard of less problems with the 8200 then the audiovox, and we sell a ton more 8200's. If she wants a phone for the camera, and would send the pics, then you may want to consider the 8920.

I really enjoyed my 8100. I then got an 8200 and was happy to find out that the ear piece was the same quality :)

I vote for the 8200

Well, if she liked the 8100, I'd say the 8200 is a natural progression- it improves over it in almost all aspects.

That said, of the two, I'd personally buy the Audiovox for its better camera, interface, and earpiece.

Some have expressed reliability issues with the Audiovox, but my sister's 8200 has -not- been a paragon of reliability, either. Many, many problems with her 8200's- most of which actually crippled the phone and kept her from recieving or placing calls (quite dangerous, if you ask me.) Hers was replaced 5 times, and her 6th one still does not function properly- although nothing too serious.
