View Full Version : Samsung V200 URGENT HELP NEEDED!

I have a clamshell Samsung V200 with a camera.
I dropped it in water in September, then dried it for a couple of days with absorbant paper. It started working absolutely normally again after that.
But a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that it had become increasingly difficult to turn it on and off, meaning that I had to press the red button harder and harder, so I decided to keep it on permanently.

But last night I had to replace the SIM card and I had to disconnect the battery. Ever since, I could not turn it back on, although the phone reacts when being recharged -- all signs are there that it works, only I cannot turn it on.
What should I do, I have some 200 very important numbers saved on the phone memory (SIM card memory was already full) and about 100 photos.
How can I retrieve them, if I cannot turn the phone on?
Please help! Cheers, Eugen

i'd guess the sim card is still fine, but the phone is fried. Sprint doesn't use SIM cards, so a lot of people here won't know what to do.

i would stick your SIM in a friend's phone (that is, if it's an unlocked phone and/or the same provider as yours) and see if your info comes up. my gut says it will.

The SIM card's fine, it is working in a different phone of mine. The problem is that most of my numbers had been saved on the phone's memory!!!

Nothin you can do that I know of. I see it all the time. Ummm.... if any lights are coming on or anything when you plug it in to charge then there is a chance. But I really doubt it. Water damage is a hard thing to 'overcome'..... Might try letting it hang out a while and then try turning it on. I really dont know. I've never seen anything good come from water damage. Sorry!
