I noticed that when I sent an album share today it had an expiration date at the bottom now! I went back through and looked and old and new picture shares and the old ones did not have it, but all of the new ones do.

Sounds like a great new "feature" has been implemented... :cool:

if you log into your own pic mail account on the pc and click on sent messages, you'll see the expiration dates as well.... all the ones i sent today say expires in 60 days.

So...do the pics now drop off the server after a specified period of time? That would suck.

That would suck...maybe the picture mail is only viewable for that long...but you still have the pics on the server????

The picturemail messages get erased, NOT the actual pictures. They stay in the album. If people want the picture for that long then they can download it. Or you can just send it to them again.

Do you really think the people you send pictures to go back after two months to look at them anyway? There are a bunch of people out there that are wasting so much space with their PictureMail messages that are only viewed on the first day and then sit in the sent messages "bin" collecting e-dust.

It's way more effective to do this.

Y'all make a good point. Who looks at email messages two months after they're sent? I was thinking this meant the pictures themselves might only be available that long too. I hope they aren't planning to do that - I think Cingular keeps them 90 days at least!

The two album shares I sent to my e-mail address today stated:

This message will expire on {ShareExpiryDate}

Interesting.
