Will the 6600 be EV-DO? I think Verizon version is EV-DO.

the hardware *can* support the ev-do protocol - sprint has not publically committed to its support on their network when it is available - i do not own one - just passing on what i have read

Well, the fact that the ppc6600 has the capability to use EV-DO is undisputeable, it's apart of the specs and many verizon users have used the evdo with the verizon equivelent.
What is debateable is whether or not sprint will allow this phone to use the EV-DO service that sprint is supposedly rolling out.

sprint can allow ordisallow a station on its ev-do network - that too is beyond dispute

The hardware is identical to the XV6600, so there's no reason to doubt it's EVDO capable. If Sprint decides to charge a premium or EVDO access that's a different story.
Somehow I think Sprint won't raise the rate. I think they're too competitive to do that.
