On occasion when I get a text message, I can read it fine, but when I go back to look at it a second time, the icon in the listing is a white box with an X in it instead of the normal envelope. There is no data next to the icon. When I open the message, it actually displays the message before it in the list. So, to make a long story short, I lose text messages this way.
Anyone else seen this or know of a fix? The only way I can find to 'get rid of' the empty messages is to erase all messages. If I delete the blank one, the whole thing repeats, it just shift down 1 message in the list.

I had that happen a couple of times but it was only after I deletedthe message. Then when I went back a red X was there. I'm not sure what casued it but it has not happened in a while now.
