3588i Modem capable?

Hello all.. I just joined and think this is a great site/forum..! Tons of great info. But....
I have a question.. I have a 3588i with a DKU-5 cable and Nokia's PC Suite 6.4(?). Anyway I was wanting to use my phone as a modem for a laptop computer. I see the option on the software, however am unable to make the connection. Is it a problem with the phone itself? does it not have the software/firmware available??
Has anyone else attempted or is using the 3588i this way?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated..!

By the way I am an avid Nokia fan; have not had a days problem with any of them I have had..! (knock on wood) The 3588i is basic and sturdy and just great for me.. In searching this forum, i have noticed the same reviews for this phone and Nokia..

first of all can you get onto the internet on your phone???????No you cant so how are you supposed to get onto the internet on your computer

I have a Nokia 3588i for now. It is a good, basic phone, but as far as I can tell, since this model isn't "internet capable" the only way you can customize it,( besides what comes with it standard) is to download monophonic ringtones that can be sent to you by SMS
