Where (how) are you using the AIM? Through the messaging section of the Vision homepage?

It's $.10 per message sent or received over the 100 included with your vision plan.

Do the AIM msgs you receive just a notification that you have a msg, or is it the message itself? If you are receiving the msg directly, yes, it would charge you just like another msg, but if you are only receiving the notification and having to launch the web to view, then it should not. (At least that was the case in the past, I will check when I get a chance).

if you signed up threw mobile aim at www.aim.com so that IM's are forwarded through to your cell then it will use up your text messages. If you use the mobile web at http://wim2.aol.com (or messaging > aim from the vision homepage) then those notices are not deducted from your text messages.

That would be good.

There's always the possibility they will waive some of it if you are nice and plead ignorance. :)

That's exactly what I want for Yahoo Instant Messenger. I wish there was some way to get a text message notification upon receiving an instant message, when you're using the web YIM interface from the cell phone.

I usually use Agile Messenger instead, but I would prefer not to keep that running and just be logged in on the web interface. Unfortunately, there's no way to tell if I got a message without actively reloading a web page, so I don't use it.
