I dont have SMS on my phone and was wondering if the SMS functionality available on Sprint allows users to send and rcv SMS to any phone/service in the world or is it restricted to US Only or Sprint Only etc.
Sprint website doesnt say anthing about this and I figured the only way to find out is to ask around from users who have it and use it.

US only as far as i know. there's a thread on here about "international SMS" and Sprint's failings in that category

You can receive SMS messages from a select group of carriers throughout the world. You can not, however, send text messages to anyone outside the US.
I will get the list of international carriers that you can receive from and post them here tomorrow.

Again these are carries you may be able to receive from but it is not guaranteed nor can sprint help if it doesn't work. If the list says Bellsouth it means bellsouth of (nation here) and so forth.

My cousins husband is in Germany, his phone can send and recieve e-mail messages and they are like our text, so My cousin sends the text to his email and he replyes to her #######@messaging.sprintpcs.com from his phone e-mail

Sorry I kinda want to update my statment because I spoke to my cousin and was mistaken on how they do this
they set up e-mails with forwording and then text to the e-mails. The e-mail forword it to the phone text address. So it is somthing that they do but it has to be kinda networked

chikka works great on a PC, but it wont let you send...it didnt work for my phone either
