Probably not, lockline is not meant to be an upgrade program. They will probably send you another 5500.

If by "issues" you mean you dont like the way it looks, I suggest you just go buy the phone you want and stop trying to use lockline as an upgrade plan.
If there is a legitimate problejm with your phone, it will probably be replaced with another 5500, or something currently comparable.

Actually I meant by "issues" I meant that speaker sometimes fails, or sounds really twangy...
So it's a legitmate issue...

What can you say about people who just throw away a 400 dollar phone, then want other people to pay for it. Buck up and take some responsibility for yourself and your actions. If you had taken better care of your phone, like getting a case which's cheaper than the 50 dollars lockline charges plus the money each month. You would be ahead.

If your phone is still avalible then ( and a good way to tell is if it's still in store and on the web site) lockline will still send you that same phone, and if its not, then they will send you what ever is closest to your phone(in price and in features)!!!!

Uhm... I love how no one answers the question I asked but has an opinion to do with what I do with my phone.
But fine I'll play this little game: I got the insurance for a reason, if something happens to the phone it would be replaced with out me having to pay a $379.99 (I already paid full price when I got the phone) to replace it. I have a case thank you very much... So thank you for assuming you know best, when you didn't bother to read the question I was asking. I have owned the phone for over a year. And it takes a abuse not my fauly. But it gets dropped, and it gets bumped, the phone now has a problem with it's speaker. Which is covered by the insurance....
But I'll say it again, has anyone replaced a 5500, and gotten something different from Lockline?

If the 5500 becomes that way, do you think the 7400 is closest in features?

Does it matter who's fault that it is? I don't think you should use lockline as a upgrade program but if the insurance covers your phone when you lose it or drop it in the toilet, why shouldn't it cover it if you damage it over time? Most people have lockline in case they damage their phone. If that wasn't the case, you would rely on the manufactor warranty, right?

it would have to be,
the 5500 features are:
RL/speakerphone
Camcorder
Mobi TV (whatever its called)
and its a Sanyo
Now Price
369.00
NO other Phone Matches that, Just the 7400, Atleast til the 5600 is released, but you wont get that, with the 7400 still being avalible, but i wouldnt look for the 5500 to be discontinued any time soon, i think its is the summer when they plan to stop selling it and lockline will still have some in store long after that ( like nov or dec when its all said and done) b/c if they need to they will send you a sliver 5500 first b4 a 7400, even if you have the blue one !!!

It think if you have insurance then it is for you to use to get damage repaired or in most cases replaced and if you lose it for real. No matter what the cause, that is what insurance is. If I back into a pole then I have car insurance to repair my bumper.
How ever people like my old boss would have a perfectly good phone and reported it lost so he could get a brand new one. Granted it had 3 years ware and tear but it worked fine. That is not OK.
Funny though how it went for him he ended up getting the PM-6225 that sprint gives free, (he was eligible for rebates) Then we did an eviction and I took video of us going in the door and pics of the apt. So he called Sprint to get a phone like mine and could not get the rebates. The moral, you get what you pay for
Funny thing is

i was wondering where you were wandering to?
fact is it's an insurance program, not an upgrade service, and now that sprint is replacing cases again, maybe they just might replace the case and send it back (since speaker issues could be attributed to case)

Actually You Can Get The Same Phone Long After It's Discontinued. You Get A Refurb And As Long As People Are Returning Them, Lock Line Will Continue Refurbishing Them.

I think the confusion begins with the subject you gave this thread:
"Can I get Lockline to Replace my 5500 with a 7400??"
This makes it sound to me (and others I showed this thread to) that you want an upgrade, not a replacement. Your car insurance will pay for repairs to your car, but they won't give you a Honda if your Chevy breaks down.
If the phone is a total loss, you deserve another one that will work properly...but no more than that.

i no this is kind of off topic, but.....
1. the current price of the phone (OR THE PRICE YOU PAID) has no influence on the phone they send you
2. Mobitv is not a exclusive feature by any means, but an app, availible on most, if not all pcs phones
3. Just cuz you have a sanyo doesnt mean the'll automatically give you another sanyo
if im wrong please correct me; but this is all jus my two cents :)

If the phone isn't working right and the store won't replace it, use lockline. Thats what its for. Take it to the store though, they may replace it for $10 under the extended warranty program. If not, for $50 you'll either get a refurbed 5500 or a 7400. Probably a 5500 though, as there is no shortage of them.

Well... the MM-7400 would have been the closet replacement to the VM-4500 if it is indeed "discontinued"... I hear it is, and I hear it isn't. Who knows?... But now...if anything... if it is discontinued...the next replacement would most likely be the MM-8300 because it has the same features are the VM-4500.
RL Capable
Camcorder- Camera
and blah blah... other junk
One time they tried to send me a Samsung VM-A680...for my other Sanyo VM-4500...and I eventually won the argument with SPCS & Lockline because that phone didn't have RL...and so, they magically "found" another 5500 to send me.
:deal:
Oh well... good luck.

This thread is 5 months old.
I have both the 5500 and 7400 and they are just about the same phone. The 5500 is thinner in width compared to the rubber outer edges of the 7400. All the features are about the same except the 5500 can use your own programed voice in the "Ringer and voice" ringtone. The 7400 has a tad better speaker and uses m4a format ringtones. The 5500 has crappy qcp. and midi tones. The menu icons on the 5500 are better (more animated). The buttons on the 5500 are thicker compared to the 7400's real thin buttons. The 5500 has 6 LED colors, 7400 has none. The flash for the camera is better on the 5500 than the 7400. I shelved my 7400 for awhile as I love the 5500. In a few months I'll go back to it.

By this time next year the deductable will be up to $100 and it will be $20 a month at this rate.
uh-huh, OK.
lock/line themselves explained the main reason for the increase is due to the increase in price of phones.
