You guys might wanna see if 511 works in your area. For the entire northern california region it'll connect you to a voice activated system that can give you traffic reports and road conditions. This works on all cell phones when you're in the area.

There is no 511 service in New York. I tried this a few months back when I found out such a number exists in VA (Richmond).
