Does sending Pictures through sprints picturemail work when sending to phones on different carriers? (i.e. T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.)
My friend sent me a picture from his T-mobile and I never got it. Then I sent him a picture from my sprint and he never got it.
I also sent one from my old Nextel to my Sprint and I got the message, but it was just a garbled message, no picture. Looks like it tried to text-ify the picture.
Does anyone know if this is true for all carriers?

You can't send pictures to phones on other carriers. Both parties would have to sign up at www.pixtopix.com (free), which works as a medium that "converts" the picture mail you are sending so it is compatible on the receiver's carrier/phone.

actually in many cases you can just NOT from sprint since sprints does goofy ass backwards things to picture mail (uploading it to there stinking site instead of just SENDING the picture like everyone else does :-)
can not even do a blog with sprint Grrrr :-(
I really wish they would fix this.
if you can not cross carriers the feature is USELESS :-(

It took me like three minutes, and has worked with every major carrier.

Really ??? How do you do it ie what blog software ?
I looked into it casually but the first couple that I went to either had trouble with sprint or got it working just to have sprint change something and break it again etc...
which one works with sprint ??
thanks!

Yea I have a personal server that I am using the uploading tool from http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/
I was going to try that python script I saw out there for sending pictures directly to the phone, but I have to brush up on my python usage.

aha.. weird.. this site has dynamic signatures. if the browser window size is made smaller, parts of the sig disappear. tried it on Opera and IE.

IMO, i think Sprint will eventually do what they did with Shortmail/SMS and move over to MMS. i hope so at least
