Some older Sprint phones (and a select few they still sell) used Sprint Shortmail instead of the faster SMS texting... so just make sure to get a phone with regular SMS messaging (most new phones have this) and you should be happy.

The only slow thing you might notice is that the screens on some low end color phones are slow to update... so as you type they kinda slowly update. But most people don't really even notice that since they can't type that fast on a tiny little phone keypad.

www.phonescoop.com is a good place to look for phones... you can use the Phone Finder to select the things you're looking for in a phone and it will return search results by carrier. SprintPCS.com also lists all the specs - just look for SMS messaging.

That is a horrible job on the Photoshop job on the reflection... would it have killed Sanyo to actually put the phone on someone's desk and take a photo? LOL...

The Vm4050 is a great Text Messaging phone, with its large, QVGA screen, T9, and fast processor (absolutely NO lag when composing T9 messages.) The keyboard is also excellent, offering great feedback and proper spacing for quickly composing text messages. The Vm4050 also offers 20 preset message locations for quick messaging.

...be aware that bigger screens eat up battery. The 4920 may have a small screen, but that's it's *battery* strength....
