I believe the Pats will win.

I'd love to see McNabb and Westbrook holding that hunk of silver, though. I'm rooting for the underdog and putting my money on them.

The pats are a very well balanced TEAM, as you can see these high powered offenses don't win super bowls INDY, MINNESOTA, ATLANTA, ST. LOUIS, these teams have one thing in common NO DEFENSE. I believe you must have a good running game and defense to win super bowls.

I agree...they're really ridiculous.
I think they could probly take on any NFL team ever. All they gotta do is scout em and Bill thinks up a great strategy. meanwhile, all their players can play like 8 positions and r so damn diverse, but overall u see that they play together as a good TEAM....
I reeeeaaallly dont like em, but u gotta give em props, they're too good.
(+ i hate philly, the fans here went nuts!...just to lose in Jacksonville :hee: )

umm, atlant has no D???...
maybe u didnt watch the eagles game, how many times we made em punt, our offense just couldnt score, the D kept us in till the 4th with few minutes left!

plussss, led the league in sacks with 48, 9th in interceptions...
Pat Kerney came 4th in sacks with 13 and hes headed to the pro bowl :D

Atlanta has defense with JMjr. stats dont lie.

as for the other teams...ehh, i agree

Correct stats don't lie.
They were ranked 14th in the league in total defense I won't exactly call that a good defense, Maybe average, check it out www.nfl.com.
Keep in mind that game yesterday was played in sub zero temps and very windy, a defenses dream.
I believe if they improve there defense they might have a shot next year, average defenses DONT win superbowls.

Made Philly punt a whole 3 times.... ATL hung around the first half, due mainly to 4 penalties on the Eagles, one of which wiped out an interception, and I believe both gave ATL first downs on their two scoring drives. Without those penalties, could easily have been 27-0 or even 27-3. But, ATL was dominated in the second half. Vick = -7 yards rishing (26 years rushing minus 33 years for sack losses)? Comeon, Westbrook ran for nearly as many yards as the entire Falcons team. The Falcons were out rushed and out passed. Let's talk for a minute about the Eagles defense....

bottom line, i kno atl isnt great and i dont think they ever havebeen really great.
But this has been a great year, they played a much beter team and I'm just sayin 14th overall total defense is better than half the NFL so you cant say they have no D. Thats wat i was basically tryin to correct

they also stopped i think about 2 possible touchdowns from the eagles?
...not sure, but i thought they played well defensively. offense was all over the place :o

Matter of fact I was watching either SportsCenter or NFL Today (I think it's called) and they were talking about the Pats possibly being the best team ever. They have all the tools. Coach knows football inside and out. Corey Dillon is a great back. Tom Brady acts as if he doesn't know there is supposed to be pressure in these games. Vineteri (sp.) is Mr. Clutch, the defense pulls though (holding Indy to 3 points??)... they have it all. I'm not a big fan of them either, but lets be real.

I would love to see Philly lose just because of T. Owens... he thinks it is all about him... when he scores a TD he seems to forget about the other 10 men on the field that helped him get into the end zone.

I actually agree. I think the Patriots have a very good case for one of the best teams in history. I don't think the league has ever seen another team so consistently and methodically tear apart team after team, in so many different ways, as the Pats have the last few years. It's uncanny. They seem to be able to remove all the major strengths of any given team almost at will, no matter what they are.

i think the current Pats would be able to handle any team of any era; but it's a good debate. the 70s Steel Curtain was IMO the best defense ever. not sure if their offense was as good though

Sure, rub it in Ace. Peyton is notorious for choking in the playoffs. But the Colts have to decide next year, whether it's worth it to keep Edge, or get some more defensive players (saw an article in the paper about that a few days ago).

I don't know how they can not have Edge, or another premier running back. If they don't have a good running game, the passing game goes downhill as well.

It's either pay out the wazoo for Edge, and have crap defense, or sell Edge, put in Rhodes, and get some defensive players.

Well, that was the jist of the article.

Why do people keep saying peyton choked, peyton didn't choke the COLTS choked this is a team sport. He actually played well let's see 5 dropped passes, he didn't throw a interception he didn't fumble he didn't make any mental errors, he did sit on the bench alot thanks to his defense. The colts need to drop some of those overpaid WR and pick up some defense. I do give props to feeney he is a excellent pass rusher.

actually wasnt it the 49ers in the 80's and the cowboys in the 90's??

On a side note..Bill Belichick is tied with Vince Lombardi for the best playoff record of all time...so when the Pats win in the Super Bowl does that make him the best coach of all time???Now that makes for a great debate....

You're right on the coyboys/49ers decades of success.
I do think if and when (and it is "when") Belichick wins his 3rd Super Bowl in 4 years, and considering the teams he has put together with no real bonafide "Superstar" like a Montana or Emmitt Smith, then he will have to be considered at least one of the top 3 coaches of all time (Lombardi, Paul Brown, Tom Landry, and Bill Walsh come to mind as a few of the greatest ever). If he wins 4 or more Super Bowls, then it's a no-doubter. Put the crown on him, because he will be the best ever.

I wonder what you'd get if you compared the average mass of the OL and DL of the 2004 Pats vs the 76 Steelers. Or the average height, mass, and 40 times of the defensive backs and wide receivers of the two teams.

I'm willing to bet that the 04 Pats are, according to the stats, bigger, stronger, and faster on average than the 76 Steelers.

I'd also like to see all of the starters from both teams stand in line for a team photo with their shirts off. I wonder which team will look more imposing.

And anyone can wave around the steroids flag, but obviously thats not always the case.
Compare any position and each player including the backups will probly have the upperhand anyways. Its just how things go, we get better with time.
I dont like the Pats, but kno they'll beat any1...
