You can use pop.sprintpcs.com and smtp.sprintpcs.com as setup in Outlook.

FYI, you can navigate to SprintPCS eMail by putting pop.sprintpcs.com in your browser address.

You can use this to view mail via Outlook & Outlook Express, however you can't send via Outlook. *err* "Relay not allowed." or something like that.

I do it all the time.. In the account setting under OE, select "My Server Requires Authentication" under Outgoing Mail Server. Then click the button that says "settings...". There you'll enter your sprint email name and password, the same as you use for pop3.

Quite a handy tip. Appreciate it. :D

I can't seem to get this to work. I'm not sure why.

I am using the pop.sprintpcs.com and the smtp.sprintpcs.com for incoming and outcoming servers. I have checked that my server requires authentication, and my user name and password are correct. I am told that the server was found, but the outlook couldn't connect, and that there was no response from the server.

I have a Treo 600, and can get my mail through the sprint biz conn program, and am using Outlook 2002, and am throughoughly confused about why it can't work.

Can anyone help?

account settings for pcsmail

incoming server: pop.sprintpcs.com
outgoing server: smtp.sprintpcs.com
username: your vision username (do not include the @sprintpcs.com)
password: pcsmail password (NOTE: this is not your account, vision, picturemail, vc, vm, password. this is another password. set it at www.sprintpcs.com > online tools > pcsmail > settings and preferences > setup > new password; or call in and tech support will set it for you)

make sure that "outgoing server requires authentication" is checkmarked and that it has the same username and password. there are no SSL or any other settings. these will be the same settings for eudora or any other email client.

try to setup a new, clean account. you'd be surprised how often that works.

This is NOT your vision username! They are different. It is your PCSMail username that you selected when you setup your PCSMail account. I think by default this maybe you phone number.

Hi Synthe,

Thanks! I can now recieve my SprintPCS mail on my Outlook and my Treo... but I can't send from Outlook. I've check the outgoing server needs authentication, and to use the same settings as my incoming server. Any other suggestions?

Laura.

You must use another ISP with authentication and make sure it is the exact login, password, and correct OUTGOING mail server. It does work as I have done it myself.

...are you sure about that?

If someone has the two set differently, they should have a good reason for doing so (inordinate spam)...

PS - I'm taking synthe's word on this one...

Is there a way to do this for SMS, not just email?

If you have the sprint incomming pop server as your outlook and then have the out smtp what ever your sprint outgoing mail server is and it may work

Is there a way to configure Outlook to receive Sprint picture mail in this same fashion, or is that not possible?

Should be possible. will need your picture mail username which can be different than your sprint user name usally if you changed your username after you registered the picture mail. Your picture mail password. The email address is Pictures.sprintpcs.com. Not sure what the incoming email server would be. probably pop.pictures.sprintpcs.com

The answer is that your outgoing mail server, user name and password must always match your ISP you are using at the time. The ISP companies won't allow someone else's server to go through theirs due to spam. In other words, if you are logged on to a Bellsouth account, sending sprint email, your incoming server info is sprint but your outgoing server is mail.bellsouth.com and whatever your Bellsouth email user name and password are. You can fill in the "reply email" field with your other sprint address so it looks like it's coming from the same place. The only way the sprint outgoing server works is if you are using a Sprint Aircard as your ISP.

Trying to get Outlook on my Moto Q to check my Sprint email, but it's not connecting... tried 3 different times and it keeps asking for my password? Says, "connecting", then "logging on" and then it asks for my password (yes it was saved).

And I'm using "pop.sprintpcs.com", "smtp.sprintpcs.com" and have "outgoing mail server requires authentication" checked, no SSL required, etc.

Is this an issue with the Q, or is sprint now blocking this in some way? If there are any Q users out there that have this working, I'd like to know if you had any issues with setup.

Thanks
