RadioShack will only give the $90 instant rebate on the phone I want if I'm getting a "new line of service."
So... I'm not under contract. What's to keep me from calling up Sprint and cancelling my account and then immediately starting a new one? I'd lose my phone # I'd guess, but is there anything else?
If not I'll gladly take $90 for changing phone #s (I've got too many ppl calling me as it is).

false churn - tell us more - i had account number 6 i think because i started in the spectrum days - when they finially figured out i don't work for sprint any longer, i called to have my new company's discount added - the rep closed my first account and opened another - was i falsely churned or just screwed?

Except for that little policy where you will NOT be considered a new customer till after, what is it, 90 days after you cancel? Come one Deval, you should know this one...
But yes there is a catch to stop people from doing what you are thinking of doing...
