It redownloads all the vision settings from Sprint. (like username, and password)

Pretty much what DJ says, sometimes it helps optimize the connection by re-verifying the handset is correct, make sure it is set to the most current 'ip' assigned to the unit, so it never hurts if you're having some issues.

On a similar note, what does "update" do when sharing pictures? On my 7400 (and on the A700) there's a link to "update" right when you're about to share a picture.

I have been unable to Update Profile for several days now. I keep getting error 1012. What does this mean?

I have no difficulties using Vision or other data services, except that when I try to send a video, the phone asks me to sign up for $5/mo Video Mail, even though I am already signed up. I decline the `offer,' and the sending fails.

I get that too sometimes. I called Sprint about it and they said to just accept the "offer", that I am already being charged for it and this would not charge me again. So far it hasn't turned up on my bill, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Even after I spoke to a technician, and he thought he fixed it, I still get an error 1012 when attempting to Update Profile. I suspect that this condition is now effectively permanent. I just hope I don't actually need to do it any time soon.

Wirelessly posted (Toshiba VM4050: VM4050/132.037 UP.Browser/6.2.2.4.e.1.100 (GUI) MMP/2.0)

I've been getting that error for months on every update attempt whether I initiate it or a SPCS tech does. It's spooked me from changing my Vision password. Tried getting it fixed once thru *2 to no avail. Anyone know if it's a known problem or indicates that my profile is messed up at Sprint?

Can you access vision at all? I don't have all the answers but for a phone that can connect to vision and receives an error 1012 it could mean that the phone is not writing the profile correctly, not receiving the full profile (packet loss can get nasty even with redundant transmission over wirelesss), cannot connect to the system that does the updating, or that the computer responsible for said update is not working correctly. There are many different, parallel systems so one phone may have different results than another across the country or even across the room (that detail bothers the heck out of people). There isn't one concrete explaination. If the phone cannot access vision and can't update the profile this may also indicate the profile doesn't correctly exist on the network to begin with.

There may be a fundamental problem with your account causing all of this. Also wrt to this and other picture problem threads, it looks like other people are having problems but not all. Could be something on Sprint's side I don't know about. They, of course, aren't going to tell everyone if there is a problem until the solution is in hand. In any event give tier1 a call. Their number should be around here somewhere.

I experienced some significant outages myself over the weekend, hmouta, so you're not alone. Lotta HTTP 403 Forbidden errors on the WAP browser and some intermittent C# errors trying to upload pics.

Aside from this general Sprint server fragility, I'm still experiencing the NAI update failure that I mentioned (above) in January. I did change my Vision password today (forced to, somehow Sprint forgot the one I've had forever?!), but the NAI update process itself ultimately failed with Error #1012 - Could not prepare PCS Vision Services.

Part of the update must have worked, because afterwards I was able to access all Vision services from the phone.

One of these days I'll grit my teeth and go through the process again with a Vision tech. In my case, it's probably an idiosyncracy in my provisioning on the Sprint side, cuz this phone has completed NAI updates successfully before.

Sprint didn't forget you password they can only see it for ten days after its been changed. If it's the first time vision set up can't see it at all. If the account has been reprovisioned they can't see it.

I've been having the same problem trying to upload 640x480 pictures. It gets to about 60%, pauses, and then either gives me a c25 error or g4 error. I talked to Sprint and they don't know anything of either error and suggested a software update, but didn't fix the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?
