why not just have the external mail acct forward your mail to your sprint mail account?

Do i have to sign up for something or am i not doing it correctly? The easiest way to do it is add it on the website. Go to your account, the click on My Online Tools. Go to PCS Mail, and then Settings and Preferences. Then go to Setup (I have no idea why you have to go through so many layers). You can add up to five external mail services. You need to know the usual stuff (pop, smtp, etc.). Hope this helps. - sheureka

yeah, but that never works. I've tried Yahoo and Gmail and both get the error.

Well It Won't Work For Gmail. I Tried Also. I Belive The Reason Is Because Gmail Requires A Secure Connection And Pcs Mail Doesn't Offer That. Just Forward It.

Have you tried using http://www.mail2web.com/wap

This is what I use for my non-Sprint/non-Yahoo mail via PCS phone. It works with GMail too!

I've had my ISP e-mail added to my SprintPCS account for quite some time. However, as mentioned above, it seems to have a problem with my Gmail. So it works, it just depends on the requirements of your external e-mail account and whether or not Sprint's server and your account's server play nice together. :D

I'm able to get a secure connection on my Sanyo 6400, using Mail2Wap.
