I have several questions...
1) Is Sprint FREAKING SERIOUS about the $549.99 cost???
2) Is there any discount for service and contracts?
3) Are they FREAKING SERIOUS about the cost? :eyeroll:
4) What is the monthly fee for the data service?
4) Can I make this an add a phone on my account? I don't want to take it with me when I'm not at work.
Thanks,

They are serious about the $549 price - but you may be able to get a major discount (much more than the $150 rebate on new activations) on the equipment price thru your employer if Sprint has an agreement with them. The reduced price is only for new activations only and may range from $149 - 249 and requires an additional voice plan of 700 mins/mo or more in addition to the BB data plan. The data service is priced at $50 / mo for unlimited data on the BB 7750 - that is right - $50 / mo ! Again, your employer may have a discount - but even with the max discount of any employer it is still $37.50 / mo. I was told that the regular Vision plans are not applicable to the BB.
IMHO - at this price point for equipment and data, not many people are going to get a BB on Sprint unless the employer is handing out BBs to employees, or you work for Sprint. BBs on AT&T / Cingular offer a better choice and lower equipment price. Sprint is not taking advantage of its better data infrastructure to offer a more competetive data plan for BBs. I gave up the idea of a BB on Sprint.

Even with employer discounts ( my employer is one of the top 3 pcs customers) the phone is freaking expensive.
What's even better when I called trying to get one they couldn't do anything for me because I'm an existing customer. If I was a new one, they could have gotten me teh data service & the phone and I could have gone into a store to get the phone service, but I couldn't get any rebate or bonus for signing up for the data program.
They said call back in a week, it might change.
Good night. What a screwed up service.

You have both told me exactly what I was afraid of! :furious:
My company has the 23% discount with Sprint. I have been a PCS user for 6 years now.
The company will pay up to $100/month for phone service, Blackberry service, etc (no hardware) as long as it is all on ONE BILL! Meaning, add a phone or nothing for me. I dont want to have to always carry the BB around.
Its sad too...I have a wonderful retention plan I dont want to give up: 1000 anytime, 5000 N/W @8PM, FIMF...for $50 - 23% discount. $15 Vision.
I'm giving Sprint 2 months, then I'm off to TMobile or Verizon.
