About two months ago, after some really bad overage charges on my wife's phone (one of two separate lines with Sprint; previously, minutes were not shared), I called them looking for help with a better plan. The overage brought our total bill to something around $300 for three consecutive months, and we've been Sprint customers for years...always pay on time, etc.
I agreed to 2000 shared anytime minutes for $85/month. I just got my first bill, and it shows $100 for the 2000 minutes. The $15 isn't a big deal to me, but the principle is. Indeed, this is the second time in six months where I've been told one thing on the phone, then found something different on the bill.
I called today (wasting yet more precious time with this company) and was told that the $85 plan doesn't exist, sorry, it's $100. I told them we're gone...they said thanks.
I'm so pissed. Did they not have an $85/2000 shared minutes plan several months back? And what other recourse do I have? I want to leave, but they're the only real national carrier in my market (Charlottesville, VA), and since I travel, the ability to use their network coast to coast is important to me.

2000 minutes for 85.00 does exist, it's a retention plan. If you're a regular customer call *2 and ask me be transfered to the retention dept. Explain your problem to them.

$85/2000 minutes is a currently offered retention rate plan?

i am almost 100% decided to only deal with sprint csr in emails i am so sick of hearing 1 thing and then getting 450% the opposite. in emials you have a record of the whole thing. plus you can cuss them out and then delete it before you send it. lol.. anyway i think this is the best way. really they handled me much better then i expected.
i recently had a issue i choose to use emial instead of phone. it took a little longer but i had the whole thing recorded. it ended up great.
i highly recomend signing into spcs.com and asking a question via email. i got my respinses within 20 min.

85/2000 is a retention plan but i don't beleive it has a free AAP, so that would be 105 vs. the 100/2000 plan which includes one AAP.
if they told you 85/2000/2lines you may be able to fanagle it.

no one got the $85 plan in forever though. It might be in the system for people who's account gets messed up, etc. I don't think they offer it though. Anyone have other experience than that? If they did, i am sure I would saw posts about such a great offer.

I have tried to warn many here that what you experienced is not an isolated case and it is in fact from my experience and that of many others who were caught in this web, that you need to be very careful with that Sprint says as they are very sneaky.
You are wise to deal with Sprint via email as much as you can as you have noted. This way you have a written copy of what they say.
When I caught on to this game Sprint was doing to me, I turned around and played it too. It has taken many calls and various Reps, but I got some pretty good deals using their unethical tactics. Last one being that I got 2 of my 4 phones down from $20 dollar-add-phone to $10 dollar-add-phone. I also got another deal (a while ago) in which I was paying for PCS Vision $15 for 1st phone and $5 for second, to $5 for each phone (no $15 for 1st phone). :hee:

Not 100% true the plan is still there and I know 2 people who got it in the last month....They called in and asked for it but YMMV.
I have 2180 minutes, 2 line free and third line free ....I got the plan in September

Even if he got the 85 dollar retention plan, it has been stated that the add subs are 20 bucks a piece. He would not get the 2nd line free. He is saving money by getting 100 dollars a month vs the 105 dollars a month. Add subs for all retention plans are 20 bucks and you should never be offered a free add sub for these plans. You got the plan and you are lucky to have it but it is not, nor should it be offered. You also have 180 recurring minutes on you plan, which again is not the norm. No retention plans have 0 dollar add subs. The rep may have worked the system if you were already coded for zero dollar add subs on lines 2-3 but it you should be paying 20 bucks a piece.

I agree to disagree with you I know what plan both people have because I checked them online...Never say never maybe very rare is the words...Now I wasnt in any way implying my plan is the norm...I also have FIMF and we know that winning the california lotto for $5000 is easier....The 85 dollar plan is available and the free subs were available last week at least in California retention plans it was ....I even set up a retention plan with a free sub line and free 7pm for my hair stylist because she started t mobile and didnt like it ...That was 10 days ago....

Well I guess it depends on the CSA. In my area you don't get the perks but than again different markets have different pricing structures. I guess I just have to remember that Sprint has different pricing structures and what does not fly in my area just might work in another area. To busy to check out all the deals in different markets.

In my experience with my many dealings with Sprint, yes, it all depends on the person you get when you call.
Persistance has paid off for me. I have found that most reps go strickly by the book, while others are much more flexible and helpful. Some reps although rare, have offered me "ideas" without me ever asking. I remember one lady rep who out of the blue said to me on one my of calls to Sprint, "Oh, I see that you don't have the $10 dollar add-a-phone plans for every other phone. Strange."
Persistance - it pays to call Sprint many many times! :hee:
