I was just wondering if anyone knows actually what the new update does to the phone. I'm not sure if its even worth my time to go to the store. I've also heard that some people have problems after upgrading to the newest version. So, does anyone know what the update actually changes about the phone. If the ringer volume is raised, I'd be at the store in a second.

BTW, I'm not talking about a PRL update. I have version XC15, and I know that there is a newer version out there.

Actually they have a new over the air update. You dont have to go to the store they can do it for you during a phone call. It would probably give you better service etc. It was not intended to change anything as far as menus or actions. But if you call sprint they can send it over the air...

I have the A680, and the guys at the Sprint Store in Champaign, IL insists that there is no firmware update for the phone and they tell me that there is no way for them to find out when the update will be released. So, is there actually a firmware update? I have seen here in the forum that there is, but am told by the Sprint Store that there is not, and actually, I am not sure if it is just me, but the guys I talk to about the update (I have called every other month to see if the update was in) don't sound very friendly. Shoot, I just want to keep my phone firmware up to date with the latest technology if it is available, especially if it might have fixes (like perhaps for the known issue with the loss of ringers), or might improve the performance of my phone.
