My wife and I both have VM-A680 phones. We're trying to figure out how to get real music ringtones onto our phones, but there's a scant bit of info out there.

I take it the file format of the ringers is .QCD? Where is a good place to find ringtone software, or what App do you recommend? Are there any decent rongtone sites that have QCD ringers? most seem to have crappy midi and poly ringers.

Thanks,

Sam

Wirelessly posted (SHARP-TM-150/1.0 Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 UP.Browser/6.2.2.6.c.2.102 (GUI) MMP/1.0)

Careful. I had two a680's and that type of ringtone caused the speaker to blowout.

jh101- I did search, but I'm terribly confused and nowhere does it list models of phones that this works on.

Thanks for the link.

Sam follow the instructions in the link and you can make your own ringers. The instructions @
http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11225 will work on the samsung a680 but as matt pointed out...do not turn the sound up really really loud or it could blow your speaker.

Or if you dont want to do it yourself...join www.d-d-n.com and request ringers you want...it is 2 dollars a month.

I have a site with all "Voice Ringers". I got a ton of stuff there that I've made, you should be able to find something you like there. Its at http://www.dbringers.info
On a side note though PDXMatt stated that he's had 2 A680 blow speakers because of voice ringers (not mine specifiacally thought); it sounds like the A680's might have weak speakers. I've never had anyone tell me before that any of my stuff has done that, but just keep that in mind when you download from any site, its use at your own risk.
Hope that helps

Thanks again. I'll be sure to pay attention to my volume, I'd hate to have to replace speakers repeatedly.

DB-I checked your site out last night, and I'll direct my wife there since you have a large pop selection. I did download your Pantera ringtone though, pretty tight and thanks for the service.

Ok, I still don't have what I want.

Following the instructions on the linked SprintUsers page, I can select my MP3, snip what I want out of it, convert it to .WAV, further convert it to .QCP, but they keep coming out too big. I've messed with the rate options, in PVCONV, and can get smaller, but still not small enough to download.

Any tips? Hints? Secrets?

Is it the conversion to WAV? Help...

If you want a cheap but pay ringtone site, I would recomend www.d-d-n.com they have a tool were you can convert an mp3 or wav file to a ring tone and send it too your phone, and both you and your wife can use it. When you choose to send it to your phone. After it says sent, look at the url and copy the link after the "=" and just send that link to her phone.

Apple Itunes will convert your music to aac. It is a free download and also has the ability to trim your songs. It works great.
