Ok, so I finally picked up a MM-7400 for Xmas. Luckily for you all i have around 80+ gigs of pure metal and alternative. I will soon post up a list of artists I have. Those that wish to get into the holiday spirit may gladly post up their requests from the list and i will be happy to make a ringer for them. It seems the majority of you all dont listen to metal, it only makes sense to see how many metal heads are on this board. If there is a specific part of the song you wish to have, feel free to post that also. Going to work on a list of artists now... look for it as my following post.

if you have your music files in one folder on your hard drive you can have windows print you a list of the files in a text file.

at the command prompt navigate to the folder where your music is
then type the following "dir /w >musiclist.txt" this will generate a text file in that folder containing the file names of the music you have, assuming the file names are named correctly

dude, in all my years, i have yet to learn that trick! So small but that makes a HUGE difference.

I have my dedicated hard drive for MP3's with a main music folder. Under that is each folder with each band/artist and then under that folders with each full album by year.
Example: F:\ -> [Music] -> Marilyn Manson -> [1996] - Antichrist Superstar -> 02 - Beautiful People.

Any idea how to list it ALL out? Im gonna try for artist now. Thanks for the tip. I thought winamp playlist, but i have about 90% with correct ID3 tags and im very anal about having it all perfect. I dont think '02 - track 2' would go very well with you guys. lol.

Ringers last usually 30 seconds average on each call so i try and chop em that small. I personally find that 80k bitrate works best on my 7400 so i will encode them at that. if its too high or big let me know and i will be happy to change em round.

30 sec is cool although some claim 32k bit rate is best but I will trust your judgement.
