I read DEVAL's instructions on how to make custom ACC ring tones, but to be honest am to lazy or just don't have the patience, I did start to do them but I think I only have a quicktime player NOT pro and can't do the export thing oh well.
So does any one know of a site that we can just upload acc ringers like that dbking guy and his qcp ringers.

What bitrate and settings are on the AAC's on that site, the Maroon5 song sounded better on my phone than the one I downloaded from D-D-N

Hey Deval, I think you might need to go through and see what bitrate the mp3's are that you have at d-d-n, because when I make a ringtone myself, it's very clear, off d-d-n, they are muffled, some to the point where they're like qcps.

are you making them yourself or are you downloading other users? if you are downloading other users, try to make them yourself. some users upload really bad quality mp3s and thats why they sound bad

Hey JH...what program are you using for the 32 rate. The ones I tried sound awful at that rate.

I am using quicktime pro. they sound good and loud. I set it to mono with 32 bit rate. The file size ends up being 80-140kb.

this is what i did...i first opened the mp3 file in sound forge and just trimmed it and made it mono by mixing the left and right channels. Then i saved the trimmed mono version in wav format. next, i opened qt pro and "exported" (convert) the file as mp4 audio with 32bitrate. then i just renamed the file (windows exploere) to have a m4a file extension.

I do almost the same thing, but keep the files in mp3 format, since quicktime pro can read/convert them as well

i know that qt can do mp3 files too, but the sound forge won't save the edited mp3 in mp3 format, my reason for saving in wav format.

what program are you using Deval to trim mp3s? is it like sound forge?

what's the difference between ACC files and QCP files? and do the QCP files work on the 7400?

ACC is very good quality sound, at the expense of space, while QCP is very compressed and sounds like crap...but takes up very little space...the phone supports both

You can use iTunes to convert mp3s to AAC. Or check out http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54271 and use the program provided there.

i just did a little reading and i saw that on 3gupload all you have to do is trim your mp3 file and send to your locker and it will automatically convert it to aac. (only is if you have a multi media phone)

Quicktime pro is the QUICKEST way to make AAC ringtones. It has a trim feature built in, just move the sliders in the timeline to the clip you want and use
"ctrl + T" and "ctrl + L" to preview until you get it right.

After you have the part you want, go to export and select movie to mpeg-4 , then click options and go to audio and select the bitrate, the sampling rate, stereo or mono, and select "best" encoding quality. Then click save, rename from mp4 to m4a and your good to go :D
