did you have the macro mode enabled on that? because I've used the phone, and it takes beautiful close-up shots
case in point...my 5500 with macro mode on

your picture (if taken with the phone we're talking about) is not exactly impressive but then again these are camera phones so i am not expecting a work of art.

When you are taking pictures up close the notch should be down towards the battery, and when you are taking pictures of things at a dis, the notch should be up next to the cam lens... Hope this helps.
