My Sanyo 4900 is pretty much dead. I pay each month for my insurance, so I will be taking my phone in tomorrow and see about getting a replacement. Does anyone know what the chances are that I'll get the same or another phone?

I would really like a PM 8200 and have been thinking about buying one. Is there any way to work out a deal so I can pay the difference and upgrade to the 8200?

I would let them know about it cause the 4900 I believe they don't have it no more and they might try to give you the 4920 that's the new version of the 4900 and I would take the 8200 instead of the 4920, my husband got the 4900 and it's awesome but my friends got the 4920 and they got a lot of problems so a lot of people I heard about that, so good luck and hope you get what you want

They are going to give you a 4920 or 4900. If you want anything else I would recommend looking at the upgrade program.

yeah, I was hoping that it wouldn't be the case, but I guess that's alright. I would love it if they would give me an option to pay the difference and upgrade, but I understand why they don't. I'll be going tomorrow and see what happens. I suppose that it can't hurt to ask for the replacement phone that I want, the worst that can happen is to be told no.

if you have TEP, and the phone has a warranty issue, but its out of warranty, a $10 deductable gets you a replacement phone

what is TEP?

I went into the store today and probably had the worst retail experience ever. I'm still so pissed that I'm not prepared to rehash the whole thing. The guy said my phone's port seemed okay, so it must be the charger. I told him that I had tried more than one charger (my mom has the same phone, her charger powers her phone up just fine) and it didn't work. He shrugged and said to call Lockline for a new phone. I asked if there was a charge and he said it was a $50 deductible. Why on earth would I pay $50 to replace a phone that's only worth about $30?

In the meantime, I don't have a phone and am seriously considering cancelling my entire Sprint plan. It has become very clear that they could care less about their existing customers, it's all about just getting new ones in the door.

TEP = insurance...if you have it, its only $10 to order a replacement, if your phone doesnt have water damage, etc.

I do have the insurance... which I know as lockline. I was told twice today that the cost to replace my phone is $50. I'll call the number I was given and see what they say.

basically if you have the total equipment protection plan, and the issue with your phone is something which would have been covered under the warranty, its only $10 to replace it in store.

just to be clear, is the total equipment protection plan the same thing as lockline? when I was in the store, the guy just handed me a card with the lockline information and told me to call them and walked away.

well basically here is the thing...there is something called ERP, and TEP. now if you have insurance, you need to check your bill to make sure you have the $5 TEP...the whole issue is the condition your phone is in. depending on that, and what you have on your account, something can be done
