Ok lockline sent me my 2nd replacement phone for my a680. The sent me a Toshibavm 4050. (I had to call them back because it had no battery) My question is which is a better phone overall?

I'd give the 4050 a try and see if you like it. They are both good phones from what I hear, but the A680 seems to have a few more complaints about the earpeice going out and battery life. I'm suprised they sent you that model, though... isn't the 4050 like 2x as big as your A680? They also don't have the exact same feature set. If you aren't happy with it, you could most likely call them up and explain a feature the A680 has (i.e. VoiceSignal no-training voice dial) than the 4050 doesn't and get another model of replacement.

Lockline sent you a better phone than what you had. It's a little larger, but it's much better.

I've had both phones, both are good. But I think you came out ahead in the once you get the battery.

Well, better screen on the 4050, it is bigger, also, the batter is not attached to backing, its inder neath so you may need to put something between because the backing i hear jiggles, the a680 has a much better outer screen, the 4050 probably has better rigers as far as he speaker wont blow as easy.. not sure about reception, i doubt the 4050 comes with that handy strap the a680 comes with but thats not a reason to return the 4050.. those r just a few things. I have had expierence with the a680 as my mom owns it, and my friend has the verizon 4050.. not the same but close. anyway, you need to try it to see if you like it, if not return it, if you do, then keep it! its going to be biased here, so see how YOU decide..

The Vm4050 waxes the A680 in terms of reception. This coming from personal experience, and has been echoed by the likes of reviewers on Phone Scoop, and Mobileburn.com .

Little larger...? It's about twice the size...
4050:
*Bigger (if you like that)
*Better screen
*worse external display
*cheap feeling...Plastics feel cheap, keys feel cheap, battery door feels cheap, is just made of a bunch of silver plastic...
*Quieter earpeice
*No Voice Signal
*More customizable UI
A680
*Much smaller (if you like that)
*Smaller, lower res internal display
*Larger, higher res, better looking external display that has a mirror
*Excellent build quality (cool to the touch alloys, chrome accents, color changing logo's
*Louder earpeice
Both have similar excellent reception, do video, and take pictures...

but like i said, your going to get some biased opinions here so play with the 4050.. and see if you like it better.

I just switched from the Toshiba 4050 to the Samsung A680 today. While I was happy enough with the 4050 a few of things made me switch.
1) Size. The vast majority of the time I keep my phone in my pants pocket. The smaller size of the A680 makes that easier.
2) Availability of apps. There are so few apps available for the 4050 that it isn't even funny. :-\
3) Camera quality. It's not like either one takes amazing photos but the difference between using the flash on the 4050 and the A680 is crazy. I get a much better picture in low light situations with the A680.
