Would the old $85 plan be compatible? I would love to get my old expired FIMF option BACK! SPCS kinda jack me on this.

I have been trying to get FIMF on my phones since it was promised to me when I ported in my numbers from a competitor. Upon completion of the ports and a 2-year (!!!) agreement, Sprint said to go pound sand!!! huh??? Wussup with that???

Is your whole plan new or just the FIMF? I'm curious about the 1000 min for $50 with free AAP.

I have the same plan as the OP and just called Sprint to ask and the rep I spoke to said NO as soon as I said "first incoming minute" she didnt even let me get the "free" part out, without checking or even looking at my account or ANYTHING... Good grief, I had to ask her to please at least check for me before saying no, and after about a 10 minute hold she came back and said yes its being offered but she cannot add it because I had a retention plan offered to me less then 6 months ago, which was in August when i changed from the 750/$40 to the 1000/$50. So according to them you cant change from retention plan to retention plan without having a 6 month period in between. So she claimed I could add it in February 2005. I dont know why they couldnt just add the code and be done with it. But I digress, I tried.... Ugh

The way I got FIMF was I was getting wrong number calls all the time...some were not english speaking and because my last digits spelled my name I wanted to keep the number...Now I did ask for it on my other lines and they said no...so it is very hard to get I guess.... :o

I just called again, and this rep claims they havent had FIMF in a long time. So the rep asked me for a person's cel number who had FIMF so they can see how to add the option to my account. Can somoene PM me their phone number? Peferably someone that has added it recently?

I'm going to call now and see if I can get it added to my 1000 A/T retention plan.

I called twice about it this year and was told both times that's it's absolutely not available anymore. I even had a code that someone gave me for it but the reps said they tried the code and the system rejected it. *rolling eyes*

Well great, she said she can't find any plans with FIMF, I said it's not on any plans, it's an option that can be added. Well, I don't see any codes for it... Grr

For you guys that get/have it, does it show up on your online invoice? Is it something you can see or is it just "there" behind the scenes working for you?

it would show in the call break down under anytime minutes used in plan, offpeak, pcs to pcs, there would be one labled FIMF.

When I added mine it showed up within minutes....on my account page. That was back in Aug 2004. I had it before that in 2002 but it was taken away after a plan change.

As far as I've just learned, the reps have access to two codes for FIMF. Both codes would have to be done by someone in the retention dept. and the code would only be able to be applied if certain criteria on a plan are met.

If somehow the code is added wrongly or improperly, and the account was reviewed, the rep would have to answer for it and it may be removed from the account.

Of course, there still might be another code or two so....

urbancontra
12-24-2004, 01:39 AM
update..contact just got back to me. There are a total of 3 codes for first incoming minute free.

so the reps have 3 to choose from. I'm told that these 3 codes are the only ones for fimf, but are very very tricky to add. I'm going to have my rep play around with the codes and try to get one to stick. Not that I need it, but let's think of it as an expirement!

Edit:

Larry, when you have a moment, pm me the code you have I want to make sure there's not 4 total. I'll pm you the 3 i have if they're different.

vikingjunior

CSR_CP
12-24-2004, 12:07 PM
lol.... What do you think the rep is going to think when you tell them "Can you add this code onto my account?" they will say no before even considering it. not only that but your account will get noted that you are calling in trying to get historical codes on your account and to not do it.

Ted
12-24-2004, 01:10 PM
the hook here is, you have to have a problem that necessitates FIMF. namely, you are getting a lot of wrong number calls and wasting all your AT minutes answering them.

even then it's a craps shoot.

vikingjunior

Well, after trying all 3 codes, not one would stick. It may have been cause of my account type. I'm sure at least one of the 3 codes would work on a consumer account, though.
Also, in case anyone with a 3rd party plan wants to know if you can add a bucket of recurring minutes a month, you umm..can't.
