also posted this is another forum. sorry about the duplication for those of you who frequent both.
In my limited experience I would have to give the reception of this phone a 5 or 6 out of 10. Testing it in low signal areas the reception is weaker than any phone I have had in quite a while. Where I could make calls (just barely) and use vision (easily) with, say, my vi660 or 3205 or 8200 on a very regular basis, this phone won't do either, ever. I love the phone and reception is so saturated these days that I don't think it will be a problem. Plus, it roams easily and seems to get better reception roaming than my other phones did. But I just wanted to find out if anyone else had this experience, now that more people are finally able to get their hands on the phone and test it out. I'd be interested in comparing it to that audiovox candybar phone that supposedly got really weak reception (VI600?).

I put in ##debug# got to the debug screen then hit ok on the service screen but I can't dial out when it's on and can't when I call the phone I can't view it? What's the code for a 4900?

after doing all of that on the 325, simply scroll down. the Rx reception info is further down the screen. you shouldn't need to make any calls.
as for the 4900, i think it must be ##debug but instead of another #, choose 'options' and 'save number' i think. it's been a while since i've used a 4900, but it's one of the older examples where you select save instead of the additional #.

I don't think that the A600/620/660's reception are bad...some like to think that though, but I personally have had no issues..
Sad that LG did almost everything right but the reception...eh

well, so far more people have said the reception on the lg is good. i think only i and wfrantz have said the reception seems weak. that's why i'm posting. i know what i've experienced, but i want to see what others' experiences are.

It's the Rx po # right? I am getting around -86 and my computer is in the basement of a split level house. Pretty much all my phones but the 4900 go in and out of service ocassionally. I just turned the signal fade on the 325 I wonder if it will start beeping. Don't think the reception is going to be a issue with me but I'm going to my mom's tomorrow and reception there sucks. I'll test it out. 4900 code is ##786 save number

Mine beats my old 5300 by about 2 dB (-102 to -104) with the antenna down, and is about 8dB behind when I put the antenna on the 5300 up (-99 to -91.) I've noticed a few places where the 325 gets noticably worse reception than the T608 I had (never tested it for numbers,) but it's not enough to bother me. I basically get reception everywhere I go.
