Just recently sold my laptop and currently have a VM4050 which i had used for tethering....

Anyways.... I want something to browse the web, email and IM with....

The sidekick does this great, however it would require getting Tmobile which is $30 a month for data only... and getting a rebate on one of these is kind of tricky(amazon has it free after rebate however its for Voice plans)

Ive used a Treo 600 Briefly in store before and cant say i like or dislike it...

A Blackberry ive never touched and i dont trust web demos... :p

I guess the one must have is that the web pages must look the same as they do on a regular computer...(I know the sidekick does this)

I would like to go with a sprint device if at all possible but dont know if theres one that meets my wants...

Also I believe theres an additional monthly charge for vision for Sprint PDA devices right? if so how much?

thanks

Treo 650 or PPC 6601 (kinda big)
http://www.sprint.com/business/products/phoneCategories/allPcsPhones.jsp
will do the job for you. Pay $15 for unlimited vision. The PPC 6601 is windows based and the upgrade (PPC 6600 w/ a camera) will be out early Jan.

I don't like Palm so the Treo is out for me.
I use a Sidekick just for data on tmobile and love it. EMail and web all day
Blackberry, I don't have an enterprise server so it isn't that great for me, and the web browsing blows.

The 650 is better than the 600 with web browsing. It also comes with versamail, which works with POP and Imap as well as supporting smtp authentication which is starting to crop up everywhere.

The phone part works very well, and sms is really nice if, esepecially if you have stuff going back and forth.

I'd have to agree with this one, after just getting the treo 650. if anyone even considered the blackberry, your better off paying the $50 more for the Treo 650, cause you get more memory and better features as well, and the batter life is much better as well. I don't recommend the 600 however, it sucked major ass.

How is the daily email ability? I use my sidekick all day long, literally........ emailing and sms'ing....... i have used a b'berry like that in the past. Curious to hear what the Treo users take on emailing like this is!

I also agree!!! the Treo 650 is way better then a Blackberry, and MUCH better then the Sidekick. The Sidekick uses an On-Network software, that is why those T-Mobile hackers were able to hack into them.

The Treo 600 is okay, but it would be a waste of money when compared to the 650.

Out of every smart device I have ever used (Including the original T-Mobile Sidekick), the Treo is now my favorite. I don't ever want to buy anything else. So I would say buy a Treo 650.
