with this many forum categories we really need a way to pick and choose what topics we want to appear on our main page, anyone know if it's possible?

Like the ability to completely ignore certain forums when you click on "new posts?" I don't think that's possible for each member to select their own custom list of forums to include. I've seen forums set up where things like "off-topic" (or water-cooler here) posts don't show up on their main portal page which showed recent topics, but this site doesn't have a page like that.

I could probably setup a page with some custom links that search all sections except certain ones... I will think about a way to do this...

OK.. I figured out how to set up a link that you can set as a bookmark that will perform a 'New Posts' search that excludes certain sections.

So.. what sections would you like to exclude? Then I'll provide an example.

Readylink, Vision, Ringers etc.

To remove the Ready Link, Vision, and the Ringers/Images/Apps sections from the new search query, bookmark this URL:

http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=2,61,23

The forum software shortened the live URL so here it is un-linked and completehttp://www.sprintusers.com/forum/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=2,61,23

I'm still checking to see if there is a similar way to make it so that you can exclude certain forums from the index listing...

Dave,

can we construct our own url, for example instead of getnew&exclude can we use getnew&include and list only ones to include?

I don't think the include command would work... feel free to try and let us know what you figure out.

include includes them but all were included anyway so it didn't change anything.

is there a command instead of getnew that could be used like to get unread posts only?
