Hi,
I need help from you guys. I need to transfer my address book from my old I500 to the new I600 (Why the I600? Company issued. Cannot complain). I tried to hotsync on my PC but they're different softwares. If I want to install I600 SW, I need to uninstall the I500 SW. So I went to the Sprint store, they cannot help me either. Threir option is either hotsync (which not work) or IR the sucker. I tried to IR the whole category but each time I only get one number beamed. Have anyone attempt to transfer # between these two phones? Am I missing something? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you

Seeing as how one is palm OS and one is smart phone OS ... it's probably not possible except 1 IR contact at a time

I would do it through the computer. I haven't used Palm Desktop in a long time (I'm guessing that's what the i500 syncs with?) and never used a Windows Mobile or whatever it is, but there should definitely be an easy way...
Check under the File menu in Palm Desktop... there should be an easy way to export your contacts/address book/etc in one fell swoop. Then go to whatever the i600 syncs with (Outlook?) and File > Import the items.
You should definitely be able to do this one way or another - sorry I don't know more about the programs first hand, but if this isn't enough of a hint towards the solution search the Help files in Palm Desktop and Outlook for Import / Export. Beaming one by one might work, but it sounds really tedious.

Thank you all for replying.
I will try the method tonight.
Hope it'll work. (cross my fingers)

You might try to sync your I500 with Outlook using the Chappura and PocketMirror conduits on the CD-ROM. (This is the only way I hotsync.) Then sync your I600 with Outlook and you should be good to go. This may involve loading the I500 software, synching to Outlook and then removing that software. Then loading the I600 software, synching with Outlook and move on with your life man;)

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/hspr-H102; Blazer/4.0) 16;320x320)
with the i500 software disk there should have been a program called "pocket mirror" you can go from your palms addresses to MS Outlook then to the i600's MS Mobile contacts. this is what I did when I bought the audiovox smt5600.

I exported all my contacts in the Palm Desktop software as vcard files and imported them in Outlook. What a task but it works fine, just time consuming. There are programs that will convert from Palm files to Outlook files on the web, you just have to look.
