edge devices that support 4 timeslots are slightly faster than rel 0 1xrtt in throughput, but 1xrtt has half the latency. it all evens out

GSM in general seems to be riddled with latency. Every time I use someone's phone that is GSM I dial, put the phone to my ear... wait... look at the phone ("Calling..."), put it back up to my ear... wait... look again, still "Calling..." and FINALLY it rings.
I thought the web felt slower on my friends Moto V551 but that could be many different factors coming into play.
so who is the winner on yall decision well ill say cdma 1x
it keeps the speed up hight and i seen edge and its slow like 75 avgre speed and cdma 1x is like 109 or higher

I have used both.. And i feel that EDGE does nothing. I noticed no speed improvements as i do with sprint in comparison. My nokia 3650 loaded pages at the same speed... If not faster than my 6200.

Probably because the Nokia 3650 supports GPRS but not higher speed EDGE. You need an EDGE-compatible phone before you're going to see any difference in EDGE vs. GPRS
Edit: Re-read your comment and see you're talking about Nokai 6200 which does support EDGE. My first comment may not be relevant if you're in fact talking about 6200 and not 6225.
