View Full Version : I bought my mother an LG 5225 in August...*Sprint Store related*

I bought it just before heading back to school, and she has hated it. I was questioning the no antenna thing, but you guys assured me the phone was legit. :eyebrow: Anyway she barely gets a signal at work, and only sometimes gets one at home [All of her co-workers get solid signals, and my phone works fine at home]. Even when I talk to her she sounds really choppy on it. And she says she has to charge it pretty often. I haven't been home since I bought her the phone and I told her I would take it to the Sprint store when I'm home for Winter Break (starts next week).

So, will the Sprint store allow me to exchange the phone or anything? I know they will give her another one pretty easily, but I think the phone in general just sucks. She hates the phone and wants something else.. Will they work with me/her, or do I just have to buy her something else?

It's really my fault for waiting so long to get home .. She's pretty lost when it comes to phone and stuff, so I told her to wait on getting a replacement/exchange until I got home... :(

They wont let her return a phone from Aug but if they deem it defective she could probably get a different phone if she is nice and asks

Yea, she doesn't want to return it .. But if possible, a swap for something else would be nice. So, they do indeed allow that (at least sometimes)?

Now I wont lie and say this will be easy...actually it requires the luck of getting a rep who cares...Sometimes if the phone is deemed defective they will allow you to go to a comparable model....I would have her go into the local sprint store and have it tested...

She bought it in August.

Well, here's what you can do. Buy another phone at full price, and then eBay your LG.

I wont ebay a phone that might be defective...She should have the phone tested first...

If it passes then ebay it or listed here ...

I bought it for her in August, before heading off to school. I know it's a stretch, but the reason it wasn't exchanged earlier is because she's clueless when it comes to phones, and I've been at school.

I just want to know if they EVER allow this sort of thing .. And according to the replies so far, they sometimes do. So, hopefully the rep I speak to is cool and understanding.

I'm sure it's defective, so the store at the very least will give me a replacement 5225. So, I'd be Ebaying a new/refurb 5225, not a used/defective one.. Looks like they're going for ~$100 on Ebay..

Yea, it's a good looking phone, lacks the camera, etc. she didn't need, and supposedly had very good signal strength.. But she's been VERY unhappy with it. :(
