View Full Version : Vision arrows flashing when not using Vision

I've noticed with my VGA1000/A620 sometimes when I flip open the phone the Vision "arrows" (for lack of a better word) will start flashing like it's exchanging data even though I'm not using it (but have since I last turned on the phone). I have to wait till they stop before I can make a call. Why would Vision come active if I'm not using it? I've had to go to the extent of disabling Vision after using it so it won't come on when I don't want it to.

It's nothing new, and it's something that happens on the Sanyo and Samsung phones. It Exchanges information with Sprint even though your not on a call. It makes me feel like BigBrother is watching and wanting to know every little thing.. I think it's annoying, because I can go a few days without using vision and then all of a sudden I want to make a call and those arrows are going and it won't place the call until Vision is done.

This same problem happens on my A680. It's gotten to be so bad that I have to disable Vision after every use or I often miss calls and can't make calls. Very annoying!!!

Its a network issue (except for Larry, where his is just in a blackhole...) where the phone IS talking to the network for voice/data purposes.

Wow, I'm sad to hear this still exists on the A680. My A600 does is occasionally, but not nearly as much as my old A620s did. They would be out of control, blinking all the time for no reason. Have you ever noticed how wild the Vision arrows go while you're ON a call if you didn't disable it before you call someone?
That's weird to me, because you shouldn't be able to have any data at the same time as voice, right? Also, it doesn't let me get to the Menu to do things while I'm on the call... grr Vision arrows!

Wow, I thought this issue only worked for those who have ReadyLink. Walk Talkie always ready for incoming RLs by standing by(why vision is working).

Actually I think I just got a bad phone. The Vision arrows on my A500 used to flash sometimes but nowhere near as bad as this A680.

Thats why he says your phone is in a blackhole... You should have it retested.

I did not know the part about it preventing you from making a call. This could explain why sometimes I initiate a call and it just terminates (not a faded signal). It usually happens for just a sec to a few seconds after I dial then the call ends. I will pay more attention now.

I'll get some sort of error message when attempting to make a call while Vision arrows are flashing. It says something like "you must first push end to make a call" (or something similar to that). Very annoying.

Mine does it to and I use Sanyo 7200 and Nokia PM-6225. It does it on both phones. In the past, I have switched to many phones. Sanyo, Samsung, Nokia and it did it on all of those. It has been doing it on mine since Vision came out. I myself must re-boot my phone. I did call tech support about this awhile back and he didn't know why it was doing it.

Trust me some phones are a lot worse than others though.

I personally am not annoyed by it. When I had the A620, it did it badly too. But I figured since I have ReadyLink, that it was the cause of the network arrows acting all out. This is something separtate from the "Preparing... Please Wait"
Oh well, I'll wait out the e x t r a seconds, its not that bad. Its not the end of the world...lol
