View Full Version : Advertising in signatures
Paid advertisers are authorized to place a link to their website in their signature. This has always been the case.

That's fine. At least now I know that there is an exemption. Signature is one thing, but are they allowed to come along and hock their products in a post just to contridict another website?
I mean we don't encourage d-d-n and 3gupload to have such debates.
Maybe I should update the guidelines so that it specfically says this. Currently says " Our advertisers pay to display their sites."
I can change it to say "Our advertisers pay to display their sites with banners and signature links."
Check my updated post. In sigs it's cool. I have a moblog in my sig. However, it's different than me pushing my moblog in a post. I just want things to be fair.

i would hope that passive advertising is fine. but when it turns into huckstering, it gets annoying

huckstering! That is an awesome word! and I agree.
Agreed .
However... the 3G Cables price is much better than that other site! :)
Yeah, but that is not for him or you or me or anyone here to decide. Walmart has better prices than Target, but I prefer Target. Either way. Users should be allowed to choose any website that they want to buy from. Not just paid advertisers.
Oh screw it. I am going fishing!!
