We switched to a new phone number last night. Within 24 hours we had received 2 porno spam messages.
When I called SPCS and spoke a CSR about the problem, the CSR nearly spit because he had never heard of the problem before.
I'm not eager to change numbers again, so I'm hoping it doesn't happen again.
The spam message:

The Number may have been new to you, but it could have been around for a long time.
As a former SPCS Trouble Tech, I have seen this before. Someone signs up for the stuff, then changes the number when they can't get it to stop.
Or, someone else knows your number, and as a joke or cause you made em mad, sign you up for the spam. Not you, but who ever last had the number.
Not much you can do about it nowadays, but change your number.
SPCS trouble techs use to be able to go in and block some msgs, but there isn't anything avail to block msgs sent via Vision phones.

Thanks Patrick. If I do get a new phone number, am I required to resign a new agreement again?

No, and don't let them tell you that. If they do, either ask for a supervisor or hang up and call back.
I have been hearing alot lately where reps on the phone and in the store are telling people they have to sign up to do certain things. But you shouldn't have to and if asked to, ask for a supervisor to see what happens.

Thanks. That raises another question - I was told by Best Buy that I had to activate Vision in order to receive the phone upgrade rebate. Is that true or false?
Appreciate your info :)

I won't ask what you mean by "girth"...
oh, its easier to see now that you have your cell phone in your pocket, is that what you mean ?
